Living Fully: an Introduction to Meditation & Mindfulness

Meditation and mindfulness don’t have to be intimidating. They are not the sole property of ancient prophets sitting alone in caves, separate from the rest of the world. Meditation and mindfulness aren’t for the already enlightened, peaceful gurus of the world. They’re for the stressed-out, the over-worked, the emotionally strained, the “I don’t have time” and the “I can’t sit still.” You don’t need to be free of these things to meditate; meditation is the way to address these issues. In other words, meditation and mindfulness are for you.

Meditation & Mindfulness May Help:

  • reduce your stress

  • quiet and calm your mind

  • stabilize your emotions

  • increase your pleasure in everyday experiences

  • improve your relationship with yourself

  • improve your relationships with others

  • increase your patience

  • improve your sleep

  • increase your body’s functioning

  • reduce your risk of heart attack

  • normalize your blood pressure

This workshop is an opportunity to introduce meditation and mindfulness into your life in a dedicated and supportive space. You’ll experience three forms of meditation: guided meditation, moving/walking meditation and silent/breathing meditation. We’ll use these three forms so you’ll have varied experiences to see what works for you. Meditation is a skill you can develop and like any other skill, you develop it through practice. This workshop will give you the skills and experience to get you started on your practice.

Through other guided practices you’ll also learn how to introduce mindfulness into your everyday life, thus gaining the benefits of meditation on the go! Throughout the workshop you’ll be hearing the experiences of others and sharing your own to gain further insight and support on these wonderful paths called meditation and mindfulness.
